TEXT 19: MOTIVATION

Motivation is having the desire and willingness to do something. Motivation can be a shortcut to success.

The word motivation is derived from the Latin term motivus (“ a moving cause”), which suggests the activating properties of the processes involved in motivation. It is a temporal and dynamic state and may be the product of various different causes.

Many people feel motivated when they know they are making a contribution, being heard, doing something useful, receiving praise and acknowledgement, or having their skills developed. Others will be motivated by admiration, money, job satisfaction, competitiveness, jealousy, pleasure, etc.

This shows that people feel rewarded in different ways.

A motivated person can reach either a long-term goal or a short-term goal.

For this reason, motivation is very important to time management.

Planned goals result in achievement, which results in rewards like money, success, etc.

Many companies have invented in developing their employees’ motivation, because it’s a well-known fact that a motivated person is happier at work and tends to be more efficient. It’s really important to stimulate and encourage people so you can get the best from them.

Human beings have dreams and desires which influence their behavior. Unsatisfied needs can influence people’s behavior and motivate them to try to get what they want or need.
